Tasting Notes > Wines > Montana (New Zealand)
Montana classic wines are considered the benchmark of New Zealand varietal winemaking and have an international reputation for quality and consistency. The wines are crafted in a style that exemplifies the unique character and flavour of the region.
Light straw in colour with distinctive aromas of peaches, citrus and tropical fruit. The fruit characters are carried through to the palate with the malolactic fermentation component adding weight to the mid palate, which leads into a long, persistent and textural finish. Go well with fish dishes like grilled blue cod. Also a mild, creamy and aromatic curry would go well with this vibrant chardonnay. |
Deep red with violet hue. A delicious mix of plum and cassis fruit notes with background hints of coffee, chocolate & leather aromas. Fresh primary fruit flavours combined with savoury tannin & oak characters provide the introduction to a long warm finish with a genuine persistence of fruit notes. Marry well with your favourite succulent lamb or beef based dishes or as a pairing for a cheeseboard. |
This elegant, yet aromatic expression of Pinot Gris, is blended from Montana Gisborne and Hawke's Bay cooler climate vineyards. Gentle pressing and cool fermentation have preserved delicate spice notes, which are complemented by lush pear and light pineapple flavours. Ideally suited to summer Al Fresco style dining, and will suit a range of dishes including chicken salads, grilled fish and lightly spiced Asian cuisine. |
